I know I'm not the only one who suggested this... "n00b"
I know it's a long shot... but please ban this word or atleast censor it... it's annoying as hell... I know it's not practical or likely, but I bet I'm not the only one who'd like to see morons quit spamming it all over the place...

then they'll have to censor nub, nvb, n00b, n0ob, no0b, noob, newb, and deal with the countless (well deserved) flames about the harshness of censorship. Besides, it's not the word (it's never the "go red engine" word, it's the context it's found in and the aggression behind it). Morons quit spamming? That will never happen but I'm definately with you on some sort of castration so these idiots stop reproducing...
And btw, I was saved but I'm still waiting on my PS2

Morons and spamming are a fact of life in ANY online game, sorry to say. And no matter how many word sensors are implemented, they will always find a way around them. Don't get me wrong: I completely agree with you. It's just that, sometimes anyhow, it's just a pointless argument.

When i call someone a noob, i mean it in a friendly manner. I don't think it's an insulting word at all. I certainly didn't mind being called it on the rare occasion someone did so.
Why do people find such a harmless word...err, harmful? |

It doesn't bother me particularly. I use it much as you do, TD. That said, I think that what bothers people is that it's just another way of 'cursing' at someone when it's said in a derrogatory and inflammatory way.
Pfft...I've been called by worse things so n00b doesn't bother me. But it really gets to some people (hence its popularity LOL!). But as we all know, banning a word only makes people look for more ways to reintroduce it and for more "clever" ways to use it.

out of everyword ever said in the history of online gaming why was noob chosen?, what would people call horrible players?, the word "noob" can not be banned from an online game, it just cant, the earth itself would be thrown off balance and we would all fly into space and live like the jetsons until one day the foot of god smites us...
and so you see the word "noob" can not be banned from any online game... thank you for you time |

They've got a language filter. Maybe they should have an option to filter "noob" language. lol. I would love it.
